Work / Life Balance

Work life balance doesn’t exist. It’s life. We need to stop pretending it’s work OR life.

Work life balance doesn’t exist. It’s life. We need to stop pretending it’s work OR life.

Sometimes, you’re busy as crap. Sometimes you can’t see your spouse or kids for a minute.

Here’s the thing: What’s your personal level of discomfort? What’s your personal level of satisfaction? Only you can be the judge of that. Why would you get advice from someone else on what they did? Maybe their spouse rather have them gone!

We all have different circumstances. My level of passion for my work might exceed someone else’s. And I may have less responsibilities at home. Therefore I’m more willing to find happiness working on a project. It’s like a game to me! That’s not bad or good. Sometimes I rather spend time with my family.

You sacrificed everything and nothing. You can’t look at your life like you missed out… because you actually don’t know what you truly missed. What if your work schedule saved you from being T-Boned by another car and killing you? Reality is, you have no clue what you missed out on.

Life is linear. It just keeps moving.  There’s no parallel space to jump to. It’s just life. At 12:01 your new day starts. Just like the other 8 billion people. Balance that however you want. It’s your time. It’s your life. Love yourself enough to value it.

Don’t look at your past and wonder. Look at your present see what is. If it’s not what you want to see, change it. You’re not sacrificing anything, except you’re sacrificing everything.
